Hot tubs in its name implies heat, so in order for the body to relax in a hot tub it needs heat. This is very good especially for people who are so busy and always do overtime from work.

Hot tubs are good for all people, young and old except for pregnant women. Although this is a very good way to relax, it is not advisable by doctors and experts for pregnant women to soak in a hot tub.
Pregnancy is a delicate state in a woman’s life so, this stage of life should be of much care. During pregnancy, women risks between life and death. So it needs extra careful especially on the part of the mother. Experts says that a body temperature of 101° F can have complications during pregnancy. It may increase the risk of birth defects to the child especially during the first trimester. It is very dangerous if pregnant women soak in a hot tub.
Aside from the fact that it can affect the child’s health, a pregnant woman might experience miscarriage. The baby inside the womb might have neural tube defects which is a serious abnormality of the spinal cord or the brain. So it is not a better idea for pregnant women to be in a hot tub. If a mother wish to have some warm bath, let her have a hot bath not a hot tub. Bathing is not soaking. So if you are pregnant, be sure to avoid soaking yourself in a hot tub. You will lose your baby if that happens.
In case a pregnant woman wants to try a hot tub, she can do so as long as the heat was reprogrammed to maintain a lower temperature. Overheating is not good so might as well control it. A pregnant woman should also do it every day or weekly. As much as possible, pregnant could try some hot tub once a month.
To reduce the risk, a pregnant woman can limit the time in a hot tub for 10 minutes or less. In order to be sure of the temperature if it is good for you, you should monitor the temperature using a thermometer. You can dip it once in a while to check if the temperature is rising or not. Another reminder is if you feel uncomfortable, be sure to get out immediately out of the tub.
Prevention is better than cure as what most of the people say. It is what experts and doctors also believe. So in order to prevent much damage or risk life, it is better for a pregnant woman to avoid being in a hot tub. Life is precious so we must take good care of it. Why would a mother risk the life of her child? Certainly no mother would do that.
