Works well in my Hot springs spa. BUying this big size on internet gives me good discount. This is a brand I use often for spa products.
January 3, 2014
Cheaper than my local retailer. Easy to use. I add 1/2 tbsp every time I get out of the hot tub.Although I've recently switched to the chlorine tabs with the floating dispenser. More for convenience. I hate trying to remember to add chlorine on days I don't bathe in the tub.
November 22, 2017
Super concentrated, takes a lot less to chlorinate. I use half the recommended amount with excellent results. I use this with the Nature Spa2 Stick Mineral Sanitizer to maintain very low chlorine levels (less than 5ppm).

After trying the Leisure products we have come to rely on them and will keep purchasing them in the future. They work exceptionally well at keeping our spa in tip top shape.
March 19, 2017
Does the job perfect for our hot tub
April 18, 2017
Excellent product. Bought it for my Hot Tub, a little goes a long way. A 1/2 of a coffee scoop gets the water just right in a 450 gallon HT.
April 5, 2017
Excellent quality, what a difference from the free samples they gave me at the place where I bought my spa. This is highly recommended.
I have tried many products to keep our hot tub clean and clear and this works wonders! I do put 2 bleach tablets in our hot tub as well and the two work well together!! I have found if you treat your hot tub with this product ( 2 oz per person) right after someone has been in it, it works great!!
March 25, 2017
Easy way to maintain a bromine system hot tub or swim spa. I just add 2 ounces every Sunday then just run the filters to circulate it. It keeps my chemicals level for the most part and so simple. It also has lines on the side of the bottle to measure the amount so no measuring cup needed.
July 28, 2017
I will admit to be skeptical. We bought a house and inherited a hot tub. We are still trying to learn how to control water clarity, chlorine levels, etc. I bought this based on previous reviews. I put 2 oz. in our hot tub, but didn't mention it to my husband. Within 48 hours, we were in the tub and my husband actually asked me if I had done something to the water. It was crystal clear! This product is amazing! Other people have written that it caused clumps of things to gather in their water. We didn't have any sign of that. I will definitely be buying this product again!
March 30, 2016
This works as promised, and as many others have described here. I have to admit, the first time I used it, I was a little concerned by the yellow gunk that was collecting on the surface and around the rim. But I soon discovered that it's easy to scoop it out using a skimmer. The only other thing you have to do is keep wiping off what collects on the rim of the tub at the water line. That's it! When the water gets cloudy, I use this product and run the jets for about 20 minutes while skimming and wiping. When I'm done, the water is already clearer, and hours later it's almost like the hot tub has just been filled with fresh water. Without this, I think I'd be draining and refilling the tub more often.
August 23, 2016
Every time my spa water get cloudy or looks dirty I use this product and clears up the water in no time. Water looks as clean as the day I filled it. I do however have to clean a scum line that forms on the side of the spa but that just shows me it works. It appears that this product gets all the dirt, oils etc. bonds it together and attaches to side of tub. Cleaning scum is easy and takes no time because it sticks to the washcloth and does not go back in the water as you clean it. The only time it did not clear up my water was when my ph and alkalinity were way outside of acceptable ranges after 4-5 months of daily use with large family. I drained and replaced the water because there was nothing I could do to bring ph and alkalinity back to normal.
March 9, 2015
I ditched the stuff they gave me when I bought the tub and gave this a try. This stuff is amazing! My son had a party in the tub, which resulted in brown super foamy water (beers spilled?). A little Bright and Clear and some filtering, and crystal clear water again!
September 20, 2017
I noticed a slight haze to the water of the hot tub that came with our new house. All chemical readings were good and the water didn't have any odors, but just didn't look completely clear. I put this in and the water immediately foamed up, to the point I thought it may foam over, so I turned the jets down. The next day there was some "gunk" along the sides where the bubbles had climbed to, but the water was crystal clear. I was amazed at how well and fast this product worked.
Half pack can works four/five times in my home tub. So this pack of 4 would work couple months for me, which is a good deal for sure. Will keep update if something go wrong, or way better than what I know now.
February 13, 2018
These are smaller than others I've had int he past, but seem fine for the job.
February 16, 2018
I never know this thing before until my best friend tell me when I said my children’s swimming pool is so hard to clean. And I still doubt about it until I used it couple time. It does absorb a lots of scum and other gross things, saved lots of my time. Would buy more.
February 10, 2018
I usually would buy scum bugs, but that price was too high compare to this one. So I give this a shot and this works just like the scum bug. I put it in my tub a night, and next morning I can take a clean bath as I want! Definitely would buy again as long as it keep the price!
February 10, 2018
So far so good. This is an amazing product for the price.
February 8, 2018
I put one of these babies into the spa and the oily scum that had been floating on top of the water was completely gone in 24 hours and it has been crystal clear ever since! It's a miracle! No matter how clean you are when using your spa, getting an accumulation of oily-looking residue on top of the water is inevitable (and gross).
SHAME ON YOU, LEISURE TIME! for your deceptive practices- labeling your pH up (which is supposed to raise pH and alk) as sodium bicarbonate and your alkalinity up (which is only supposed to raise alk) as sodium hydrogen carbonate is shameful! You know full and well that sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate are the exact same thing (baking soda)! And, to make matters worse, this substance does NOT significantly change the pH but has substantial changes on the alkalinity. So now I have a spa with alkalinity off the chart and still my pH is too low. True that I wouldn't have been fooled had I remembered a bit more of high school chemistry, but that doesn't justify the misrepresentation of your product. You should label this product as alkalinity up because it is sodium bicarbonate which is the same as sodium hydrogen carbonate which is the same thing as baking soda. IF you want a product that is truly pH up, use sodium carbonate which is soda ash. This product is NOT a true pH up product.
October 3, 2016
Does what it says it's going to do. It is uppers for your spa. Product arrived promptly and as described. Same stuff I get at the spa store, delivered to my door because the local place's hours suck.
February 28, 2017
worked great, PH was down a little low so added the amount it is justly slightly high now which is fine.
September 17, 2017
great produce. Can't lose with leisure time products. Always use it and price is right on.
May 18, 2017
Most of my hot tub chemicals are Leisure Time brand. And Spa Up is essential.
September 20, 2017
I love all of the Leisure Time spa products. High quality and affordable.
May 22, 2017
great value for this product works as described would buy again
Good ole Spa Depot. I have used them for the last 10 years to get my Spa needs. Free gifts always a fun bonus. Good people.
June 28, 2017
Folow instructions and your spa will be exelent choice for rellaxing!
July 11, 2017
these products are okay
July 26, 2017
April 5, 2017
Good price for all of these products. Hot tubs have to be checked often and these chemicals do the job.
October 18, 2017
September 8, 2017
Great product! It's great not having to purchase these chemicals separately. Price is great too! I would highly recommend Spa depot for all your pool or spa chemicals. As always Amazon has sellers who believe in customer satisfaction!
This stuff is the bomb! I've tried a few different things, bromine, minerals and bromine combined, etc. - and nothing maintained our hot tub that well. I read all the reviews for this, took a shot in the dark, and ordered it. I use more to shock the water (three tablespoons), such as upon fill up, and if our kids use it consistently. Other than that, every few days I'll throw in one tablespoon. To be honest, I've even skipped adding any for two weeks, and when I open the hot tub the water is crystal clear. Our water is GREAT!!! So clear, and balanced! This is the only thing I'll use from now on.
August 7, 2017
Not for Hot tubs - at all! Does not work to keep water clean, clear and sanitized. Clorox does not know what they are doing when it comes to Hot tub chemicals. Used now for 4 months and can confirm that it will cause you nothing but problems. I am going back to individual chemicals because Clorox 6 in 1 is only good for giving you 6 issues with one product: Cloudy water, PH always out of whack, Algae always too high, water green, Chlorine always low, constant cleaning of the water line, etc, etc, etc.
October 27, 2017
Used this Clorox treatment in my spa for years. Very dependable, and consistent in product formulation. It's easy to overuse, so experiment with smaller quantities, and increase only if needed. Six pounds goes a long way, so I fill a 1 pound container to keep from reopening the larger container (avoiding caking, contamination, or losing 6 pounds if dropped).
August 20, 2017
I'm using it with MasterSpa H2X, 1500gal, keeping for swimming at 88F. I don't need high levels of chlorine, but it replaces other sanitation solutions. Great value and a bigger container. It has a pleasant smell after application.
April 30, 2017
just perfect for a small above ground pool, used half over the summer. added it any evening after the kids swam (most days) and ran the little pump overnight, it stayed clear and free of algae, kids could swim in the morning with no complaints about stinging eyes.
November 4, 2017
If you have algae issues in an above ground pool, you need this. I tried everything in my Intex pool and nothing worked. One dose of this in a sock hung on the ladder until it dissolved, worked for the rest of the summer! Yes, you still need chlorine and test test test. My levels were all coming out normal but still couldn’t get rid of the algae until this!
October 31, 2017
This is a fantastic price for granular Sodium Dichloro-S-Triazinetrione Dihydrate. I used to get 4.5 lbs of a spa-brand that cost quite a bit more. This is exactly the same formula and grain size as the spa brand I was getting. And the bonus is it's 6lbs for less money. Others have commented that it was only 5 lbs, citing volumetric settling in the bottle - this is false! It IS 6 lbs, as verified on my scale after zeroing the container. (See photos for weight and chemical composition.). Others also commented that it made their spa foamy, I have been using this for weeks, shocking frequently, and have not experienced any abnormal foam compared to the more expensive spa dichloro granules.
Enter your model number to make sure this fits.; Quickly eliminates and prevents foaming in hot tub, spa and pool water; Water based formula, will not upset water chemistry; Easy to use, simply pour ...
My 5 place jacuzzi was cloudy I used the combo here bromine tabs in my floater & the shock ...I was in shock when I first through the shock into the jacuzzi it looked like I was throwing in salt for my front porch in the winter time but it dissolves and as a side note the first time I used it I threw one cap in heaping and it wasn't enough it was still cloudy so through my frustration two days later I threw three caps in! I figured it's either going to clear the jacuzzi up or I'm going to end up draining it 2 days later it was crystal clear I recommend both products used together
July 24, 2017
clorox never fails
July 16, 2017
Keeps my spa clean and sparkling.
December 7, 2017
Convienant to use
December 9, 2017
I bought this for a small baby pool so I wouldn't have to empty it all the time. It works great and is gentle enough to not leave any odors or dryness on skin. Make sure to read the directions well so you are using the right amount. If the water feels grimy or slimy than you probably aren't using enough.
August 9, 2016
Quite a bit more concentrated than the standard chemicals, but work really well.
Leisure Time Renew Shock Renew is a non-chlorine shock oxidizer. This fast-dissolving granular oxidizer rids spa water of residual soaps, deodorants, natural oils and organic materials that can build ...
I used this product for a while then I discovered Oxy-Spa (you will have to search for it on Amazon they will not let me link it here). Here is why I chose Oxy Spa over Leisure Time renew.1. The price Lesure 2.2lbs of Leisure Time cost $18.39 Free S&H / 4lbs of Oxy-spa cost $19.94 + $3.95 S&H Total of $23.89So your getting more for your money. 2.2lbs vs 4lbs2. Oxy spa has more Active Ingredients than Leisure time. So you can use less product. In-fact the Oxy spa is 1.5-2oz per 500 gal, while the Leisure time is 2oz per 250 Gal.Oxy spa Leisure Time RenewPotassium Peroxmonosulfate...42.8% Potassium Peroxmonsulfate....32.18%Inert Ingredients............57.2% Other Ingredients............67.82tive Oxygen................4.3% Active Oxygen................3.26%3. This may seem trivial but the mouth on the bottle of Oxy Spa is wider that the leisure time. If you have ever tried to get a measuring spoon down in the bottle you know what I mean.Leisure time works! Im not saying it doesn't but the Oxy Spa is the best bang for your buck with the same ingredients only more. If you use a mineral sanitizer like Nature 2 you know you'll be going through shock.
May 17, 2013
Works well! I put in the tub after each use along with a small amount of chlorine and the water has stayed clear.
March 23, 2017
This stuff is stronger and less expensive than the brand my local pool supply chain sells. It works well in my brominated cedar spa.
May 7, 2017
I've tried several other brands and Leisure time is definitely the best!
January 8, 2017
I'm fairly new to being a hot tub owner (2-3 months), but this shock performs just as well as the starter kit provided by my retailer. I use it about once/week.
November 22, 2017
I noticed the bottle had a powdery residue on the it and when I opened it the inner seal was missing. Not sure if this happened during MFG packaging or not.
December 7, 2017
If you have hot tub you need chemicals. Only once have I had trouble with a shipment from amazon but not on this purchase
Nature2 SPA is perfect for spa owners looking for an eco-friendly, low maintenance alternative to heavy chlorine or bromine to keep their spa clean and free of harmful bacteria and viruses. Nature2 ...
Purchase Date: 03MAY16Purchase Price: $7.98I needed some strips for my pool. Found these strips cheaper on Amazon then the local Leslie's Pool Store. Pool store tested my water for free and strips showed similar results. Follow the directions and you should have no issues. Simple and straight forward. Will buy again. Please Note: I did NOT receive any type of incentive to write this review. This review is my honest opinion after doing much research and purchasing this product for use. Prior to purchasing any product I conduct thorough research. "Was this review helpful to you?" [...]. Thank you! 🙂
March 17, 2016
I wrote a one star review just last week and I take it back. The strips work. If your reading is 0 for chlorine go to poolcalculator.com and enter your pool's capacity. It will calculate how much chlorine you have to add. It was much more than I expected. After that I was within acceptable rage and the strips confirmed it. Also when I added baking soda the alkalinity and ph changed almost immediately. They work. Too bad it took half the strips in the tube and a week of frustration for me to be able to figure it out.
June 16, 2016
Easy to use and easy to read
December 31, 2015
Unfortunately, like some have stated on here, upon arriving these strips do not read chlorine/bromine levels. All other readings are fine but chlorine pad stays white. Luckily, I have another test kit that uses liquid bottles and I'm able to get my chlorine reading and not over chlorinate. The bottle was kept in the house under a/c and away from pool. Bad batch? who knows? not purchasing these again. Even worst item is non-returnable.***********I am updating my review 1 star. I decided to put the strips in the freezer for a few minutes and tested the pool water and lo and behold it read the chlorine. Still not acceptable these were kept in the house under a/c. First test strips I have bough that need to be refrigerated. In the fridge they go
September 30, 2017
These strips failed after a few weeks - they don't provide any indication anymore. They didn't get wet, although they weren't kept in a cool place, as recommended by the label. But seriously - you're going to keep these at the pool, not in the fridge. So while the failure is probably my fault, I wouldn't recommend them because they can't stand up to normal usage.
August 2, 2015
Works perfectly for a small inflatable pool I purchased a few weeks ago, 10 feet by 30 inches. I didn't want to have to constantly be refilling it and this has been a great and cheap way to monitor chlorine levels. I put a splash in at night after everyone is out and have peace of mind thanks to these strips.
July 10, 2017
Always displays same colors on test strips. Shocked pool today, waited 5 hours, and tested water to see if safe for kids to swim in, and it showed up white (little to no chlorine). I let them jump in an swim and within 10 minutes they were red eyed complaining of burning of eyes. Bad product to rely on!
I use it in my Kaboom Never-Scrub toilet cleaning setup. Much cheaper than buying their tablets and works just as well.
February 14, 2015
I can't say these aren't great in a hot tub or spa, because I don't have one. But they don't do as good a job as Kaboom tablets, if that is what you are shooting for. Pretty good, but not as good. With Kaboom, I literally never had to scrub water marks from my toilet. With these, I do, although not nearly as often as without any tablets at all.
January 3, 2018
I bought this as a low cost solution for filling some Kaboom inline toilet cleaners I installed in my tanks. The tablets fit perfectly, and one jug of these will last me the lifetime of this house and then some. No complaints!
September 24, 2016
Works just fine as a Kaboom refill alternative. Can't say for my hot tub as i haven't bothered using it the past few years.
March 1, 2016
This stuff works well but i will NOT reorder it. I've bough this item a few times and the bottle was never full ok I can live with that but the last time there wasn't even a half pound of tablets in the bottle so I'll look 4 another place that sells the same stuff as it does work well. So FYI check the contents 2 c if ur happy with ur purchase!
December 14, 2015
These tablets easily into the NeverScrub! Automatic Toilet Cleaning System. I used a pair of pliers to remove the top of the existing cartridge in the NeverScrub..This only took a minute, and even I was able to do it without any harm to myself or innocent bystanders. I did this in both of my bathrooms. I was worried about how effective the tablets would be, so I put one tablet into the NeverScrub! system and dropped a second tablet directly into the toilet's tank. I had already done some research to confirm that the ingredients wouldn't harm the tank parts. I'm also using this to see which of the two tablets will dissolve first. One toilet gets used more than the other so I don't think that just using the NeverScrub system for one and tablets directly in the tank in the other would be a fair comparison. This was a few weeks ago and since then I've only needed to lightly clean the toilet bowl once to remove some, ahem, solids. Otherwise it keeps the bowls sparkling clean at a much lower cost than the offical NeverScrub cartridges.
December 10, 2016
These tablets are working great in my Kaboom! Scrub Free toilet cleaning system and they're much more reasonably priced.
Leisure Time Spa Foam Down Concentrated foam suppressant designed for hot water applications. This non-oily foam suppressant is effective in any type of sanitized water. Add directly to the foaming ...
Works great and kills the foam in less than a minute. Used it once in hot tub and foam hasn't returned in 3 weeks. I had the bromine and PH levels spot on with a recent fresh fill of water and we couldn't figure why it was foaming, this product did the trick. My only bad comment was top was broken when it arrived and other piece was not in box, should have never left seller in this condition. foil seal was ok. So just tore foil a little to let us get out then screwed top back on.
November 20, 2017
first application, apx 3 oz took care of the foam issue, 2nd and 3rd visits had to add more. havent had a 4th visit. i expected this was a one time treatment, now im wondering if its supposed to be added regularily. if so not happy considering qty vs cost.
October 31, 2017
Not as efficient as described. Does eliminate some bubbles in our hot tub, but usually have to add up to 2X the manufacture's suggested amount. Before you ask, yes the water is clean and replaced every 3 months with usage 30 minutes every other day
April 24, 2017
Not as effective per ounce as other treatments we have used. Ended up being more expensive and less effective than Clorox brand anti-foam. Works, but would not purchase again.
September 25, 2017
One cap keeps my bubbles down. I need to add this once a week or so because I use Borax to control ph and as a sanitizer. Borax naturally bubbles a little bit in the spa.
September 22, 2017
Excellent product, even better than the foam down product that came with my Jacuzzi hot tub. Less than one capful used and POOF.. foam gone!! I will buy more products from this company.
August 16, 2017
Foam down is amazing if you have bubbles in your spa a few drops of this and turn your bubbles or jets on bubbles be gone like magic.
The Leisure Time kit came with my hot tub. Theirs is the only product I've used, so I have no basis of comparison to what could be better. This stuff works for me and is easy to follow the directions. If a level does go out of whack, they have something in their line that will quickly correct it. However I seldom get levels out of what by regularly using Renew, Defender, and Spa Enzyme.
September 30, 2014
If you are looking to get rid of scale that is already in your hot tub, this will not do it. It will help prevent scale, but it will not remove it. It will not even loosen scale, so again if you were trying to find a quick fix on scale in your hot tub, don't bother with us. However, once you do get the scale off of your hot tub, this would be a pretty Wise Choice
October 18, 2017
When it comes to ordering products, I rarely care about the name of the brand as long as I know it's good. My only exception is for computer supplies, electronic supplies and spa supplies. I have been using Leisure Time for several years and if it's the only brand I trust and use. I've never had a problem with scale buildup and my Aria hot tub runs in perfect condition. The price cannot be beat and the service is spectacular.
January 9, 2013
I love all of the Leisure Time spa products. High quality and affordable.
May 22, 2017
I have used this successfully in my Cal Spa since 1999 and it is great!
November 14, 2017
This stuff really works and keeps the grim off the sides of the spa.
September 9, 2017
I can't really tell that this works 😛 Water still looks the same.
I normally use Leisure Time Renew in my hot tub. I read other reviews that stated Oxy-Spa works as well or better and actually has a greater concentration of key ingredients. I am very happy with this product, my spa water is crystal clear! Since I've been using Oxy-Spa we've had no itchy skin associated with some hot tub chemicals.
October 7, 2015
I use this as my sole sanitizer for my spa now that I have to avoid all chlorine and bromine exposure. It does not smell or dry out my skin. The spa water looks clean and clear after a couple of months of use during the winter, when I can't change the water due to the cold temperatures.
April 25, 2016
We ran out of spa shock and had to reorder but took a little bit so our water got a little cloudy this stuff cleared it right up! However it really did only come just over half full which is annoying. Why not just combine the two bottles and save on bottle production and have a full bottle!?
December 6, 2015
I've been using Oxy-Spa for over 10 years in my spa and my water is always clear and clean. I use it along with "SunPurity Mineral Sanitizer for Sundance Spas" and never have to worry about harsh chlorine smell or irritation. Don't let anyone tell you that you "Have" to use chlorine. I put a little in every week regardless of use and the bottle lasts for a long time.
February 13, 2018
We have ordered this several times and it is great...the best price also. Comes very nicely packed on time.
August 1, 2017
My favorite Non Chlorine hot tub additive. No strong odors. Keeps the water smelling clean
August 27, 2017
I have used this product for years because the chlorine stuff makes me breakout. It has no odor like chlorine products have, so no smelly skin after words. It keeps our hot tub crystal clear.
FOR BEST RESULTS SHAKE BOTTLE WELL BEFORE USE. Pool Anti-Foam is a concentrated liquid with a special water-based silicone formula to knock down foam in pools, spas and decorative fountains. It also ...
Compared to the price of other spa anti-foam products, buying this product by the gallon was the most economical. The seller did great and the product arrived very quickly at my home. Yesterday, some foam formed in the spa when I had the jets on high so I poured in a very small amount of the Pool and Spa Anti Foam Defoamer Concentrate and the foam immediately disappeared. The price is great, the product really works and I would not hesitate to buy from the seller again; not much more I can say.
February 18, 2016
I recently set up an outdoor hot tub with a salt water system. From time to time, I get foam when running the jets. This product is an excellent value (currently around $30 for one gal, with free shipping) and eliminated the foam problem that I was having. I used only 2 cupfuls for a 500 gal tub. It didn't change my chemistry, and the water is crystal clear. It works, and it's a great value. What else is there to say??
October 31, 2015
Used this product in our hot tub this weekend. We had so much foam it would start to overflow the tub when the jets were on. Used 2 oz. as stated on the label and the foam was completely gone. It's been several days and I haven't had to add any more solution yet. Great product, glad I purchased.
November 2, 2015
This defoamer works well & is a better deal than the smaller bottles. We add it after adding enzyme to break down oils so the enzyme doesn't make the water foamy. Works very well with minimal tinkering with chemicals-Just daily 1T chlorine granules, 3/4T Oxyspa, & after each use, 1oz enzyme + 1oz defoamer , & clean the filter weekly.
June 3, 2016
This product arrived exactly as described! Worked great!!This is a good value for the money. I would definitely recommend this company.
December 20, 2017
Great value here and not a lot needed, but don't rely on its effectiveness. Stay on top of the chemical balance and change out that yucky spa water at least every three months...js
December 19, 2016
New owner of a hot tub so very new to figuring out the pH and levels and such, the first 2 weeks went good then a huge foam issue developes. Our started kit came with "Anti-foam" which they stated we only needed a few drops... well I had to put in half the bottle (pint) and it still had foam. 2 days later the problem continued so then I was out of this Anti-foam so I ordered this and meanwhile my sister in law picked up locally another pint of a different brand of an anti foam thinking maybe this will help. Well no not quite. Less needed than the last, however still needed more than they stated we would need. Then our product arrive!!! (A day early to my surprise!!) So when the foam came I thought let's see how good this stuff really is... I literally did a drop, ok... another drop... little more. DONE!!! I'D SAY WE FOUND OUR STUFF!!! YEY!! Then I got an email stating for an honest review we'd receive a portion of a refund towards our product!! Now I've seen that happen for people, but I'm never the lucky one.. so ALL AROUND HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!!!
Keep your water clear and bright! Using polymer technology, our spa clarifier / hot tub clarifier removes contaminants, including inanimate scum, lotion, natural oils, soap, deodorant, perspiration, ...
Worked perfectly with only 1 cap full. It cleared the water in about 24 hours time. The water continues to be cleared, there is no smell and I have not had to treat the water since. I think this will last for a long time.
December 31, 2017
Amazing! Just tried a first application on water that had turned cloudy/turbid, then went for a walk. A couple of hours later, after having applied it and left the circulator running on my tub, I checked on it, and it was crystal clear, and the water looked enticing. Highly recommend this one. 😎
January 28, 2017
Used the recommended amount, next day, spa was much clearer and cleaner, thank you . Spared us the cost of draining and refilling.
September 22, 2017
The product cleared my water up. It did leave a gritty ring around the tub but it cleaned up easily.
December 11, 2017
I am delighted with the Hot Tub Spa Clarifier product. It worked as advertised and the water in my hot tub looks great - no more cloudy, murky water. If this hadn't worked, my only other alternative would be to empty and refill the hot tub - with a BIG water bill. Glad I didn't have to do that!
July 9, 2017
Just 1 ounce cleared my hot tub water from brown to sparkling clear. It really does what it's says. Gets rid of all the heavy metals. Even though I use a filter on my hose when I fill it, apparently doesn't filter out enough. As soon as I put bromine in the water it turns brown.Yuck, not very inviting. Works as described. I like it and would buy again for my hot tub.
*Please Note: SpaGuard has a updated look. Same product, same size, new label. SpaGuard Spa pH Increaser will raise the pH of your spa or hot tub. When you use BioGuard® spa care products (SpaGuard® ...
We've been using this product in our hot tub for over a year now with no issues, it works well to maintain the proper PH balance. There's not a lot you can say about hot tub chemicals, either they work or they don't and this works without issue. Typically we try to buy this local but since it's less expensive on amazon and we just got a new puppy we needed to save a little money. 🙂

Follow the chart for dosage. Holds Ph for a good while (2-3 weeks for our 6.5 tap water). Adjust Ph first, then add your chlorine (more stable that way).

increases ph as advertised. However, I wish they had something that told me how large the cap is. Looks like one Tablespoon. maybe more though. I just use an actual TSP measurer instead, which is just one more thing to deal with.

My hot tub was starting to get slick with oil that the filter just could not remove. I added these two little octopus, thinking, "What is this sponge really gonna do?" It took a couple of days, but the oil was completely removed. I'm impressed -- and they're easy to clean and reuse!

I love it.We had pollen in our pool and we put the spa skimmer in and the next day it was gone from the top of the water.

Had to change my review from 5 stars to 1 star....would do zero if available. Bought last year from Amazon and thought it would be a good deal but after using it for several weeks we realized that the temperature was inconsistent and we kept getting error messages. Contacted the "manufacturer" (actually made in China by a Chinese company and only sold here by Bestway) and they sent a new "R2D2" unit or egg as they call it. I was instructed that I had to cut off the cord on the defective unit and throw it away....wish I had not done that. The new unit worked perfectly for about 3 months but now leaks from inside the "egg". I contacted them again and they said no coverage on the new unit but that they would sell me a 3rd one for $200....really...they only work 3 or 4 months??????This inexpensive hot tub suddenly gets pretty expensive when you have to keep replacing it at your cost.PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT or you will be sorry...yes there are lots of 5 star reviews including our original review. As a follow-up: I took it apart and found a leaking plastic part that contains a flow switch (to make sure water is flowing before letting heater come on). I opened that and found a bad gasket and casting that allowed it to leakI again contacted Bestway but they said they did have any parts for repair whatsoever...I took it all apart, found an O-ring that fit and put it all back together but soon found a second leak deeper down in the unit. So now it still leaks but at a slower rate so maybe it can run for a couple of days before adding water.

1. First off, this was more comfortable to sit in than I expected. You can buy cheap inflatable cushions that you fill with water to sit on, and I thought I would need one, as the bottom is not inflated. But the padded ground cover makes it fine to sit in. (You'll be buoyant in the water anyway.) Shorter people and others who complained about the lack of seating should know about the water-inflated cushions, which should be helpful. The inflatable sides are firm, but very comfortable to rest against.2. The tub gets up to 104, which is supposedly the CPSC recommended max temp, and the limit for all new residential hot tubs. So this shouldn't be any less warm than any other new spa. I would personally prefer a couple degrees warmer, and I know my gym spa is hotter, as are some older residential tubs (my friend's got up to 106). But I think this will be okay for most people. And will prevent kids from getting burned. It does loosen up my muscles, including my back, which was the reason I got it. I just need to spend a little longer in it than in my gym spa.3. In terms of capacity, this size is great for me, at 6'1, with long legs. I can sit flat against the side, and (barely) stick my legs all the way out without touching the other side. So I'm glad I chose this one over the Miami model, which would've been too small. This also fit fine on my condo patio, which is 10 x 8, while still giving room for my utility closet door to open onto the patio.I could easily fit a girl in here with me, and perhaps even two or three. However, two guys probably wouldn't fit well in here unless they were dating. Your legs would be touching unless really scrunched up. On the other hand, a family of four would probably be fine if the kids weren't too large.4. Use non-chlorine sterilizer and shock to reduce chemical odor.Ultimately, if I this lasts for over a year, I'll consider it a decent purchase. If it lasts a couple/few years, I'll be very happy with the investment. I use it almost every day. (And I hope that by insulating the heater and tub further, I'll be able to use it in the Winter also.)P.S.: I strongly recommend you getting one of the "used" "Very Good" or "Like New" models. I took a gamble on one of the "Very Good" models that only specified "damaged packaging", and it does appear that the tub was never filled with water, or even inflated. It's possible that it was returned by someone, but I was able to save $100 on the price as a result. I see no reason to pay 33% more just to have an undamaged box.P.P.S.: My advice, for when first getting this -- open the box and take the items out before trying to move it anywhere. The box is too heavy and unwieldy by itself, but each interior part is much more manageable.Earlier notes:1. I'm new to hot-tub ownership, but it appears through research that 104 degrees is the max temp possible now for most residential hot tubs. So this shouldn't be any less warm than any other new spa.2. If you have a laundry room in your home, and want to expedite the process, you can hook up a hose to the water taps there, and fill it up. Start with cold water, so you don't burn/melt the tub, but after getting a foot or so of cold water in there, you can switch to the hot tap. I'm already at 100 degrees fairly quickly.Note: Do not try this with a collapsible hose. They are otherwise handy, but the hot water will melt the thin interior rubber rubber linining. You'll need something heavier duty to handle the extreme heat. Also, keep an eye on the water temperature. You probably don't want to exceed 100 or 100 degrees before letting the built-in heater do the rest. Anything too hot could mess up the heater, and possibly melt the vinyl.

I bought this hot tub for use in my basement. It arrived quickly with everything that was needed for setup in the box. I needed no additional tools to help me set up the spa. There is a YouTube video (...) that is very helpful in the setup process. I was very eager when the spa arrived and quickly threw the ground cloth over my carpeted basement and had the spa up and ready for water in 10 minutes. The spa took around 30 minutes to fill up with cold 45 degree water and it took about a day to reach a cozy 100 degrees. Extremely excited to start using my new spa I completely skipped over balancing the water. I grabbed my Spa Frog Floating System (http://www.amazon.com/Aura-2525-Frog-Floating-System/dp/B000O5Y476) and started following the instructions to use the product. I had the cartridges floating in the water within 10 minutes and got in that day. It all went downhill from there. I'd test the water using the included test strips that came with the system and everyday they said the same thing: 0 ppm of bromine. This meant that I had no sanitizer in my hot tub water and I was using the spa heavily. I shocked the water with a nonchlroine shock like the instructions said trying desperately to raise the bromine level in the spa. This didn't help at all and the water in the spa quickly became smelly, green, and covered with a thick foam whenever the bubbled were on. (You can see this in the first picture.) I did manage to kill all of the bacteria and get rid of the cloudiness of the water by using both shock and a clarifier (...) I thought that I finally got the water balanced and that the spa was good to go. I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, the water was clear but it was still getting greener and greener each time I would shock it. I did more research into the problem and found out that my hot tub water had large amounts of copper in it! I knew that it would be best to drain the hot tub and start over fresh because of the copper and the thick foam that still plagued my spa. After I drained the spa I lifted up the carpet to see that it was soaked and starting to grow mold. I had to rip up the carpet and I laid down tarps to catch any of the water that fell out of the tub whenever I got out or the bubbles splashed some water over the edge. I then refilled the hot tub with the same water as before and after it was full I noticed the green tint. It was slight but I knew that it would get worse. I used Leisure Time MetalGon (http://www.amazon.com/Leisure-Time-Spa-Metal-Pint/dp/B000V87OY6) to remove all metals in the water. After filtering for 30 minutes the spa had that crystal clear water that you look for in all pools/spas. I then heated up the water again and this time began balancing it. BALANCING IS IMPORTANT!!! I learned that it is not just something that can be swept under the carpet. You first NEED to balance your alkalinity. I used baking soda for this and it worked just fine. The I balanced the pH using HTH pH increaser (...). Then I balanced the Calcium Hardness using some leftover chemicals from pool season but you can find some calcium increaser here: [...] After the water was warm and balanced I started to sanitize it. I added 7/8 of a packet of a HTH Brom Start packet (...). Then I put some bromine tablets (...) in the chemical floater. I gave it the night to filter, shocked the spa with the same nonchlorine shock as before (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AVYTYS4/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1944687462&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002WKOBJ2&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=18JYBFXT45K0AAG4J62P0, then I tested the water using the HTH brand test strips (.... Everything was balanced and the spa water was clean, blue, and sparkling. Even a week later the water still smells fresh, its crystal clear, and balanced. The bubbled hitting your back are very powerful and very similar to a professional hot tub. Even though the whole process was a lot more extra time and money for me that does not take away from this spa being an amazing product. I'd recommend it to anyone who asked in a heart beat. The 104 degrees really gets you sweating in the hot tub and its more than hot enough for anyone. I found that it even makes me a little woozy if I stay in it too long. The spa heats up around 2-3 degrees and hour like it says and you really can't even tell that you're sitting on the floor. So, to wrap this lengthy review I just want to say that this product is AWESOME! just don't make the same mistakes I did and it will go smooth sailing from there. Happy hot tubbing! :)Recap of Chemicals and Balancing:ALWAYS Balance your water firstHave patience with the setup, just accept that you're not going to be in the spa the same day it's deliveredI DO NOT recommend the Spa Frog Floating System, it's garbageClarifier [...] Leisure Time MetalGon http://www.amazon.com/Leisure-Time-Spa-Metal-Pint/dp/B000V87OY6pH Increaser [...]Calcium Plus [...] HTH Brom Start [...]HTH Test Strips [...]Bromine Tablets[...]Non chlorine shock http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AVYTYS4/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1944687462&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002WKOBJ2&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=18JYBFXT45K0AAG4J62P0
